10. Let The Right One In(2008) A haunting take on the vampire/horror genre. Also a pretty good love story.
9. Inglorious Basterds(2009) One of those movies where as you watch it you really have no clue how it is going to end. The tension and dialogue in the 1st scene is possibly one of the best I have ever seen.
8.The Pianist(2002) Such a different take on WWII, great performances.
7.Wall-E(2008) This films ability to portray its story and emotions with little to no dialogue in the beginning is astounding, and something I strive to be able to pull off.
5.The Dark Knight(2008) A superhero film that can also not be considered a superhero film. Heath Ledger truly became his role in this one, some of the best acting I’ve ever seen.
4.Shaun of the Dead(2004) A well written comedy, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright can write a solid comedy. Always a good film to watch.
3.Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind(2004) An amazingly different take on the love story.
2.28 Days Later(2002) This is the film that made me a Danny Boyle and Cillian Murphy fan. The visuals and story are so much more than a “zombie” film is usually capable of.
1. The Diving Bell and The Butterfly(2007) Easily my favorite film of all time. The story strikes very close to home for me, and reaches all the peaks and valleys needed to tell such a story. Mathieu Almaric does a spot on performance of the lead, down to the look and movement of his eye, and just…it is an amazing film, I recommend this and urge you to see it. A story of optimism and never letting any setback keep you from accomplishing your dreams.
